Atenas Mena from Kansas City is a first generation Mexican American. Ms. Mena received her Master’s in Nursing Leadership from MWSU in 2019. As a nurse, Ms. Mena received extensive environmental health training and participated in a cohort of the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments to support regional environmental justice work. For years, Ms. Mena worked with CleanAirNow through community-based projects, served as an advocate and transitioned into the leadership role as Co-Executive Director.
